In October 2024, Senang Eco held its official launch event in Bali, bringing together over 30 participants and organizations from across the tourism sector for an afternoon of conversation, collaboration, and commitment. More than just a beginning, this gathering marked the first of what we envision as a recurring platform for sustainability dialogue within Bali’s hospitality and tourism industries.

The event was designed around one core idea: that sustainability in tourism cannot be a solo effort. It must be built collectively—by hotels, local businesses, supply chains, and the communities they operate within. At this first talk, we opened space for frank discussion about what meaningful progress looks like, the barriers many face, and the opportunities that emerge when we work together.

The response was promising. Six hotels signed up on the spot for our Free Quick Assessment, eager to understand where they currently stand and how to take the first or next step on their sustainability journey. These early adopters demonstrate the sector’s growing appetite for change, not just in theory but in practice.

Partnering with various organizations, our goal is to make this event a regular feature in Bali’s sustainability calendar, an open, evolving space where industry leaders, changemakers, and emerging voices come together to share knowledge and shape the future of tourism on the island.

As we move forward, we remain grounded in the belief that real progress begins by listening, then acting. And that sustainability, especially in tourism, is about building something more enduring than a trend: a culture of care that serves both people and the planet.
