Accelerating Cleantech in Indonesia: Bridging Demand and Policy with Senang Eco
ESG Strategy & Advisory

Senang Eco worked alongside New Energy Nexus in developing a multi-province study on Indonesia’s cleantech transition, focusing on how demand, policy, and system readiness interact across regions. The study explores how rising energy demand is reshaping the landscape and accelerating the need for cleaner, more sustainable solutions.
As Indonesia’s cities expand and industries grow, energy consumption continues to increase, reaching 1,411 kWh per capita in 2024. This shift is not only about volume, but about changing expectations. Across provinces, signals of transition are becoming more visible, from the growth of renewable energy and electric mobility to increasing attention on efficiency and sustainability.
Our work centered on translating these developments into actionable insights. We analyzed how cleantech demand is evolving across sectors, including energy, transport, and industry, while identifying gaps in policy alignment, infrastructure readiness, and implementation capacity.
The findings highlight a key challenge: while demand is accelerating, systems do not always move at the same pace. This creates both constraints and opportunities in scaling cleantech solutions effectively.
This work reflects Senang Eco’s commitment to bridging insight and implementation, supporting a more coordinated, inclusive, and scalable clean energy transition in Indonesia.
